Fella's Full Moon Fiasco

Pumpkin bucket in hand, Fella bounded down the street bearing a wide grin under his astounding costume. A thunderstorm broke the silence before he set out, creating the perfect setting for a night of fright. He stopped to see his reflection in a puddle, admiring his ragged wolf-like appearance. A large muzzle hung over his face protruding sharp bloodstained teeth, menacing golden eyes piercing the darkness for that added effect.

"This is the perfect costume!" he thought aloud, swishing his tail to and fro as he set off towards his first victim. Bucket at his feet, he knocked loudly only to freeze hearing the reply. Thump. Thump. Thump. The ominous sound grew louder before the door suddenly flew open. "Trick or tr-EAAAGH!" Fella wailed, raising his arms to shield himself from the huge beast before him. Roaring in anger it caught the unwanted visitor on the arm with a rogue claw. Fella stumbled, crying out just as the monster swung at his bucket. Heart pounding, he ran through bushes and over fences until finally reaching safety.

He noticed his costume had torn away during the escape, but he was home. Fella sat on his doorstep, breathing deeply while watching his shadow from the glow of the pumpkin. He blinked with bewilderment when he noticed a slight 'furry' edge to his figure. He looked where the monster scratched him only to see thick fur. Fear overtaking him, he turned and stared at his very own wagging tail. Then realisation hit him.
